Special Features of ANAMEC

The site is designed as an advice, information and training centre for analysts from diverse disciplines who have specific problems to solve within their organisations or who require some training in specific areas in which they have no or little experience.  The Centre either directly or through a number of professional experts in industrial, service and HEI organisations can provide vital know-how to assist in solving problems of a chemical, biochemical, biological and clinical/medical nature involving, in many instances, assay methodologies of an interdisciplinary nature.
The Centre is also linked with Scientific and Technology Solutions Ltd set up by Mohammed Ali in association with Rehan Beeker to cater for analytical advice, information, training activities for the Sudanese Petrochemical Industry.

 Business Associations

The Centre is closely associated with an Analytical Consultancy Business, Hall Analytical (Keith Hall, Director) which has State of Art Facilities, GC and LC/MS instrumentation and over 30 years of experience in analytical & environmental work and, most importantly, sample introduction & capillary column technology. Through this contact the Centre is able to provide analysts with advice on analytical facilities and technology that may not be in-house. Hall Analytical has a close association with Waters Corporation (Micromass MS Technologies Centre), which is also located in Wythenshawe.

Academic Association
Through a research association on the development of pesticide methods, using GC/MS and Elisa assays in the 1990s, the centre has group member, Profs. Graham Bonwick and Chris Smith, in the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Chester, who can provide state of art advice on biological assays in foodstuffs and environmental matrices.
