 Distance and Life Long Learning
It is recognised that there is a need for distance and life long learning for all analysts, in whatever organisation they are currently employed, to provide them with the capacity to progress within their current employment and allow mobility if the opportunity arises. The Centre will be able to assist in the desire to undertake D & LLL activities and provide a vehicle for analysts to interact by cross fertilisation of ideas and other than through their professional bodies and societies. The Centre will endeavour to act alongside these recognised institutions and HEIs offering these facilities.
 Seminar and short course organisation
The Centre can provide the opportunity for the organisation of seminars, short courses/one day meetings either independently with commercial organisations and HEIs or in liaison with sponsoring bodies, such as the British Mass Spectrometry Society (www.bmss.org.uk), and the Chromatographic Society (www.chromsoc.com). Short courses for small groups in-house, or at the premises of one of the group members of the Centre, can be designed in specialist subject areas to meet particular needs.
 Training Activities
Custom-designed training courses with or without hands-on practical exercises can be organised. The theoretical, technical and tutorial training notes can be made available on request, and for general viewing can be uploaded onto the documents page and discussed in specified fora with other relevant documents submitted by members.
Affiliation
Affiliation to the Centre through e-mail registration will afford participants the facilities of the Centre, such as, access to the fora, and technical and tutorial notes posted on the documents page. Participants will be able to post theoretical and technical questions requiring specialist answers. The Centre, if required, will respond directly with theoretical and technical notes on the specific subject area or pass on the enquiry to colleagues with expert knowledge in the field of interest.
